Museum Tekstil Jakarta
The Museum Tekstil library is a non-circulating library, which opens to the public on Tuesday – Sunday, following the museum's schedule. Most books were donated by the museum's supporters. A substantial part of the collection were gifts from important scholars such as Judi Achjadi and Mattiebelle Gittinger (the pioneer of Indonesian textile study in the United States). These gifts represent their trust on the Museum Tekstil Jakarta to serve as the center for textile knowledge and research in Indonesia.
Starting from January 2019, we worked closely with the Jakarta Museum and NOESA and raised $ 3400. With this fund, we hired a project manager, a computer programmer to install the OPAC library database, and an intern to standardize data entries. We also secured a three-year subscriptions for the hosting of website and domain name for the next three years. This project was completed in August 2020.
