I received my Ph.D. in Anthropology and M.A. in South and Southeast Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. I am a member of the editorial collective of Décalages: an Althusser Studies Journal. My research interests include the history and theory of anthropology, Indonesian aesthetic practices (sculpture, literature, film, textile), political economy and theology, translation, and psychoanalysis. I have undertaken fieldwork in a number of regions of Indonesia, including Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Aceh, Bali, and South Sulawesi, and my work appears in Cultural Critique, Bijdragen tot de Taal-, Land-, en Volkenkunde, and Philosophy, Politics, and Critique among others.
